I am from a military family. Our travels in the US and overseas exposed me to a diversity of people’s and cultures. My adult travels have multiplied my experiences with other peoples and their art. I am a Senior Foreign Service Officer who has traveled the world and lived abroad extensively. Much of my art tries to capture the lives and cultures from my overseas assignments. I like painting portraits, cityscapes and people as an expression of their uniqueness. Although self taught, I have exhibited paintings in Guatemala, Jordan and Virginia as well as here in Vancouver. I feel that as I try to capture life in distant countries through in my art I also capture a deeper understanding of other people. That assumption motivates me to continue.
