RAY BAXTER

Ray has been painting for over 20 years. He recently returned home to the Pacific North West after spending the past ten years in Sydney, Australia.  Ray’s work has been well recognized; named Artist of the Month at Hazelhurst Art Gallery and winning the Walt Chandler Award for oil painting twice. Ray paints a wide variety of subjects that include landscapes, life drawing, portraits and still life. Ray is also inspired by everyday icons, having a deco or graphic representation. Ray loves the use of strong color and texture in his work. Primarily an oil painter, Ray also loves experimenting with Acrylic and watercolors.

He has studied with numerous well-known artists such as John Corby, Kevin Taylor, John Wilson, Roz Psalis, and Herman Pekel. He is a member of St. George, Southern Cross Art Societies, Ridgefield Art Association and the NW Oil Painter’s guild.
